January 2008 Newsletter

Dear all, 

Firstly, Congratulations to the Under 12’s and Under 13’s on getting through to the semi-finals of the Supplementary Cup! A great achievement for both teams!  Also, to the Under 12’s on remaining joint top of the League for some time now!!!

Many matches have been called off lately due to the weather conditions – hopefully we will soon be over this and able to get on with weekly games. 

Halifax RLFC v Melbourne Storm – Friday 22^nd February; Our Under 8’s are to play in a curtain raiser to this massive match, against Brighouse. Kick off is scheduled to be 7pm for this mini match. Should you be going to the match please try to get there early to support the Under 8’s and wear any “Club wear” you have. Let’s get ourselves noticed. This match is not covered by season tickets and tickets are selling fast. Be sure to book early to secure yours. Should any player wish to go to the match wearing their kit this is fine by us. Please speak to the relevant coaches to arrange. 

Under 15’s have received new tracksuit tops sponsored by Pennine Tool Hire and Under 12’s tracksuit tops have been sponsored by Petra Properties. Thank you to both of these new sponsors.

We certainly are being noticed around town! 

Applications are now being completed for the Run for Jane on 22^nd June. This is an event we are partaking in to raise funds for Hannah – our 2012 Olympic contender! Please consider joining in with the run – you can get around the course anyway you like – you don’t have to run! However, participants must be 17 years of age on the day of the run. As a Club we are paying the entry fee as our part towards the cause. Please contact Vicky MacDonald for further details.
